Keeper’s Tips

• Encouraging First-Time Drinkers: For animals unfamiliar with flowing water fountains, place your reptile near the edge and gently drip a few droplets from the spout onto the tip of their snout. Once they lick their lips and taste the running water, they quickly learn to visit the fountain independently.
• Substrate & Placement Barrier: To prevent loose coco coir, sand, or bioactive leaf litter from being kicked into the lower catchment basin, set the fountain on a flat basking slate, ceramic tile, or non-adhesive terrarium liner rather than directly on loose dirt.
• Pump Care & Descaling: Hard water minerals can slow miniature pump impellers over time. Every 2 to 3 weeks, slide off the front cover of the submersible pump, rinse the magnetic rotor under clean water, and soak the ceramic components in a 50/50 mix of warm water and white vinegar to eliminate mineral scale. Rinse thoroughly before reuse. 
• Cord Routing Safety: Guide the power cable through your terrarium’s dedicated cable access ports and anchor it flush against the corners with terrarium-safe clips to prevent climbing pets from snagging or resting on the wire.
