Elevate your enclosure with the gold standard in naturalistic terrarium decor.

Natural cork bark flats are an essential foundation for creating enriching, species-appropriate habitats. Whether you are carving out secure, cozy hides for your scaly family members, constructing vibrant 3D bioactive backgrounds, or mounting tropical epiphytes and orchids, these textured bark pieces bring an authentic slice of nature straight into your terrarium.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Versatile Hardscape: Perfect for crafting natural hiding caves, climbing ramps, background ledges, and plant mounts.
  • Bioactive & Moisture-Resistant: Highly resistant to rot and mold, making it ideal for both arid desert setups and high-humidity tropical vivariums.
  • Safe & Enriching: The rugged, natural texture provides excellent grip for climbing, aids in healthy shedding, and offers physical enrichment for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, and invertebrates.

Preparation & Safety Instructions

While our cork bark is heat-treated at harvest, natural wood can occasionally harbor tiny hitchhikers (such as harmless outdoor ants or spiders). For the health and safety of your pets, we recommend prepping the bark before adding it to your enclosure:

  1. Clean: Rinse and gently scrub off loose debris with warm water.
  2. Sanitize:
    1.  Bake: Place on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 125°F–200°F (50°C–95°C) for 35–45 minutes (monitor closely).
    2. Boil: Alternatively, submerge in boiling water for 15–20 minutes, then allow to fully dry before use.
