Maximize colony vitality, accelerate breeding production, and deliver a bioavailable calcium-to-phosphorus ratio directly to your scaly family members.
A thriving reptile begins with well-nourished feeders, but keeping a healthy feeder colony requires more than plain grain bedding. While wheat bran serves as a dependable dry bedding, Dubia roaches (Blaptica dubia) rarely consume it unless starved of alternatives—it simply lacks the protein density, aroma, and essential micronutrients they need to flourish.
Our custom High-Calcium Dubia Chow is scientifically researched and formulated to match the natural palate and metabolic demands of Dubia roaches. Crafted with a balanced grain base, savory fish proteins, sweet molasses, and fortified minerals, this blend is finely milled into a nutrient-dense powder for effortless feeding and maximum absorption.
Whether you maintain a small bulk supply for weekly feedings or run a high-yield breeding colony, this chow delivers visible results: healthier roaches, robust exoskeletons, faster development, and higher reproduction rates. Best of all, it establishes the ideal calcium-to-phosphorus ratio directly inside the roach's gut tract, ensuring every feeding fuels your reptile's skeletal growth, muscular function, and long-term vitality.
Key Features
- Species-Specific Palatability: Infused with natural molasses and wholesome fish proteins, ground into a palatable dry powder that roaches actively seek out.
- Optimized Calcium-to-Phosphorus Balance: Fortified to deliver a pet-safe calcium ratio directly through feeder gut-loading, supporting strong bone development and preventing metabolic bone disease (MBD) in reptiles.
- Accelerated Colony Production: Higher protein and bioavailable calories promote faster nymph growth, vibrant exoskeletons, and significantly higher birth rates for breeders.
- Finely Milled Powder: Micro-ground texture prevents selective feeding, ensures uniform nutrient intake for both nymphs and adults, and leaves zero waste behind.
- Versatile Multi-Bug Nutrition: While tailored specifically to the dietary preferences of Dubia roaches, it serves as a nutrient-rich dry diet for crickets, discoid roaches, and mealworms as well.
Feeding & Colony Guidelines
- General Colony Maintenance: Offer in a clean, shallow feeding dish inside your enclosure. Replenish every few days as consumed, ensuring the dish remains dry and away from humidity sources.
- Pre-Feed Gut-Loading (24–48 Hours Prior): 1 to 2 days before feeding roaches to your reptiles, transfer the feeding portion to a separate cup or container. Provide a generous portion of Dubia Chow alongside a safe moisture source to fully pack their digestive tract with bioavailable nutrients before mealtime.
- Hydration Note: Always provide moisture separately via moisture gel crystals, organic orange slices, or squash in a distinct dish to prevent dry chow from becoming damp or molding.

Husbandry Tip: Dubia roaches are avid scavengers, but damp dry food can sour quickly in warm breeding bins (85°F–90°F). Keep dry chow dishes on the cooler, well-ventilated side of your tub, and keep hydration foods on the opposite end to maintain peak food freshness.
