• Substrate & Suction Anchoring: For the strongest hold, secure the suction cups directly to a clean, bare-bottom tank floor before adding substrate. If you use aquarium sand or river stones, pour them over the flat crossbars of the base to add ballast and disguise the framework.
• Check Lamp Clearance: Always measure the distance between your heat/UVB lamp and the platform at its maximum floating height (full tank capacity) to ensure your turtle cannot touch the bulbs or experience unsafe surface basking temperatures.
• Ramp Angle Optimization: Set your water line so that at least the bottom 2 to 3 inches of the ramp remain submerged; this allows turtles to swim directly onto the ramp and find footing without pushing against floating plastic.
• Simple Maintenance: During tank cleanings, simply slide the platform upward off the support pylons to rinse away algae or mineral scale with warm, dechlorinated water—no need to unstick the suction base.
