Add dynamic texture, flexible climbing architecture, and organic shelter to your enclosures with dried Palmyra palm tail springs. These unique spiral botanicals provide microfauna shelter, avian enrichment, and a naturalistic, transforming element across humid and aquatic setups.
Husbandry & Habitat Highlights
- Dynamic Structural Enrichment: Features a tight natural coil that gently expands into a flexible, wavy vine when exposed to moisture or water, creating versatile climbing paths for small reptiles, amphibians, and arachnids.
- Bioactive Microhabitat & Grazing: Offers shelter crevices and a long-term grazing surface for isopods and springtails, contributing valuable organic matter as it slowly breaks down.
- Biofilm & Blackwater Hotspot: Cultivates a rich layer of grazing biofilm in aquatic setups while releasing gentle tannins to support naturalistic biotope parameters.
- Avian-Safe Foraging: Functions as an engaging, safe chew and foraging toy for parrots and other pet birds.
- 100% Organically Sourced: Harvested in India from sustainable Borassus flabellifer palms and naturally dried without pesticides, dyes, or artificial chemicals.
Specifications
- Scientific Name: Borassus flabellifer (Palmyra palm spring, Sugar palm spring)
- Package Contents: 3 palm tail springs
- Average Size: Approximately 4 to 6 inches long (natural variations in coil tightness and length will occur)
- Habitat Compatibility: Bioactive vivariums, isopod and arachnid setups, arid or tropical terrariums, bird enclosures, and freshwater aquariums.
Preparation Guide
- For Terrariums & Aviaries: Ready for direct placement. Position across the substrate, weave through decor, or place into bird habitats for safe foraging and exploration.
- For Aquariums: Boil for at least 15 minutes to aid sinking and release initial tannins (boiling relaxes the spiral into a wavy vine shape). Soak in fresh water overnight or until fully waterlogged before adding to the aquarium.
