Installation Guide: Mounting in PVC or Wood Enclosures

To install this dish into a solid-wall terrarium (PVC, melamine, or sealed plywood), follow these simple steps:

1. Choose Height & Position: Determine the optimal height along the enclosure wall where your gecko or bird can comfortably access the rim from a sturdy branch, cork bark round, or perch.
2. Mark the Drill Point: Hold the wire ring bracket against the interior wall at your chosen height and mark the spot where the threaded bolt meets the wall.
3. Drill the Mounting Hole: Using a drill bit sized slightly wider than the bolt (a standard 1/4" / 6.35 mm bit is typically ideal), drill directly through your PVC or wood wall.
4. Fasten the Bracket: From the inside of the enclosure, pass the threaded bolt through your newly drilled hole to the outside of the wall. Place the metal backing plate over the bolt on the exterior side, thread on the wing nut, and hand-tighten firmly until secure.
5. Insert the Bowl: Drop the stainless steel dish into the support ring from above—it is ready for food or fresh water.
